Brief description:
For overseas candidates who wish to enroll in a full-time undergraduate program at York University, the university explicitly provides the Global Leader of Tomorrow Scholarships and the International Entrance Scholarships of Distinction.

For three years of full-time undergraduate study, the scholarships above are all renewable as long as strong academic standing is preserved each academic year.
Eligibility:
You must fulfill ALL of the following requirements to be eligible for the Major International Scholarships:
- Be an international student who needs a study permit to attend school in Canada.
- Must have applied to a York undergraduate degree program starting in the fall of 2023.
- Applicants to York must have done so within two years after high school graduation and without having previously attended a university or college.
- Must have an outstanding academic record and an “A” average or above.
- The ability to lead others must have been proven via involvement in the community or accomplishment in the arts, athletics, or other fields of personal achievement.
- Must have their high school make the nomination (schools may nominate one student only)
- The nominee will be considered for the York University Academic Excellence Scholarship, the Global Leader of Tomorrow Award, the International Circle of Scholars Scholarships, and the International Entrance Scholarship of Distinction.
- Candidates must authenticate that they are the student from that school who has been nominated by speaking with their guidance counselor, principal, or administration about the York International Student Scholarship & Award Application.
- The candidate must then provide the nominator’s name, title, contact information, email address, and phone number in the application form.
- one recommendation letter needs to be uploaded
- Achieve “Received” status for all necessary papers in the York application (MyFile) before February 1 at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
- Application for the International Student Scholarship must be finished and submitted online by February 3, 2024, at 11:59:59 Eastern Time.

2023-2024 The application period is now over. Beginning in December 2023, the next round of applications will be accepted.
You must submit the online International Student Scholarship & Award Application form to be considered. You must have a 9-digit York reference number, which you will get when applying to York within 5 business days. York must receive your application by no later than January 15, 2024. The application date is February 3, 2024.
