Brief description: 

The University of Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program is designed to honor foreign students who exhibit great academic success, and innovation, and who are regarded as leaders in their schools. The student’s contribution to their school and community as well as their potential to benefit the world community in the future are given great consideration.

Approximately 37 students will be named Lester B. Pearson Scholars yearly.

Target Students:

International high school students from all around the world, including international students studying at the Canadian High School.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:

For four years, the scholarship will pay for all living expenses in addition to tuition, books, incidental fees, and full residence support.

Eligibility:

To be qualified to apply for the Pearson International Scholarship, one must be:

1. An international student, that is a non-Canadian requires a study permit.
2. You must either be a finalist in high school right now or have graduated no earlier than June 2023.
3. Starting studies at the University of Toronto in September 2023 (Those already enrolled in post-secondary education are ineligible, as are students enrolling in another post-secondary school in January 2023.)

Application instructions:

To be awarded the Pearson Scholarship, one must be nominated by their school and apply to undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto. To apply, you’ll need to:

1. Get a nomination from your school.  (High schools not already contacted/verified are asked to submit an application for nomination rights available here.)
2. Apply to the University of Toronto so that you may start your studies there in 2024, and make sure to submit your admissions application by the dates specified.
3. You can submit your online Lester B. Pearson Scholarship application after the University has received your nomination and you have applied to the school.

NB: The deadline for school nominations is 30 November 2023. The deadline for student admissions is December 14, 2023. (you are recommended to apply before 7 November 2022). The deadline for scholarship applications is January 16, 2024.
