Scholarship value/duration:
The scholarships are offered as GRANTS-IN-AID and are not meant to pay for all living or educational costs. Based on need, the maximum award for one (1) year of study is $12,500. Depending on each person’s need, smaller sums may be given.
A scholarship winner enrolled in graduate school is qualified to apply for one (1) scholarship renewal. She is only eligible for scholarship support for two (2) years.
Eligibility:
- The P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund offers financial aid to women from outside the United States and Canada who are pursuing advanced degrees at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada, with the hope that recipients will use their education upon returning home to make a positive contribution and promote world peace.
- A candidate must have a full year of coursework left to complete, be enrolled, and dwell in the same residence for the whole of the academic year to be eligible for her first award.
- First-time candidates are not permitted to be doctoral students who have finished their courses and are just focusing on their dissertations.
- Scholarship applications from international students attending Cottey College are welcome.
- Students who are citizens or legal residents of Canada or the United States are not eligible. Note: It is acceptable for a student to have residence just for tax purposes.
